This Monday, 4th of December 2017, the stakeholder dialogue “Bio-based Industry” took place in Vienna. During the congress, which was organized by the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) and the Austrian Society for Environment and Technology (ÖGUT), current developments and results from projects in the bio-based industry field were presented by the Austrian companies and research centers involved in them. The TCKT was represented by Blanca Lekube, who along with Simon Riepler from IFGAsota presented the joint research project “Modification of bio-based plastics for fiber applications”.
In addition to interesting presentations a panel discussion entitled “Bio-based plastics – Future or Illusion” was organized, in which topics such as the role of bioplastics in circular economy were discussed.
