One of the important factors for very good recyclability is the purity of the waste material. For this purpose, so-called cryogenic grinding at up to -196°C represents a promising and innovative solution for the physical separation of composite materials.
As part of the cooperation project "KryoReIF", the recyclability of cryogenically separated parts of a plastic composite (e.g. multilayer films) is being demonstrated at TCKT.
