After a 2-year break due to corona, this year we were finally able to bring some plastic topics closer to interested students from the Europagymnasium Baumgartenberg, both theoretically and practically. The very interested group was able to get to know some processing methods in the field of compounding, blown film- and flat film extrusion. Even our AFP Tape laying system could be seen in action. Additionally, they also saw mechanical and thermal characterisation methods such as infrared measurement, MFR, tensile and Charpy testing.
The ten students got an insight into the diverse areas of activity of the TCKT, from material development to plastic recycling.
Perhaps we were able to arouse the interest in a career in the plastics sector in one or the other. We hope to be able to hold this practice day in the coming years too.
