PET2Pack

Increasing the recycling rate of plastic packaging to 50% by 2025?! This is precisely why research is being carried out on a closed-loop system for PET rigid packaging as part of the "PET2Pack" research project. The goal is to recycle PET for both food and non-food applications. On the one hand, the focus is on sorting, with the project aiming to develop a suitable sorting process to achieve the greatest possible sorting depth. Another central research content is a suitable recycling process to realize best possible material qualities. For this purpose, the input and required output material flows will be analyzed in more detail and packaging standards for Design4Recycling will be developed.
